Haiku for Adulthood #104-#109

“The most redeeming thing about fools is that we always relate to them. And find mercy in foolishness.”

You’re right of course, to

call me a fool, but not to

resent me for it.

_________

Your love, this splendid,

heroic passion, is more

gift than dismissal.

_________

I ask not for happiness,

just for the right to

love you, and love you.

_________

Inspiration comes

only after loss. Better

to write than to beg.

_________

(Not quite haiku)

You called me many things.

It was only a matter of time

before you called me out, as well.

_________

There’s no room for fear

in love. You’re either really

lucky, or really lonely.
